Kim Darling is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and independent curator whose work explores the electrifying intersections of social practice, traditional art forms, place-making, and performance.
Rooted in the rebellious spirit of the punk movement and driven by an insatiable curiosity, Darling’s art sparks conversation, pushes boundaries, and invites deep reflection. Her public engagement initiatives amplify
collective commitment to create art that is experienced and empowers social change.
She holds a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and an MFA from the University of South Florida. Her work has earned support from numerous organizations including the Nebraska Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).
Over the years, she has been honored with Artist-in-Residence fellowships, each offering a new opportunity to deepen her practice and expand her work. Kim’s work has been featured in national and international solo and group exhibitions at esteemed venues, including the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, NE, the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, the USF Contemporary Art Museum in Tampa, FL, Pensacola Museum of Art, Pensacola, FL and Bond Street Print Shop in New York, NY, among others.
Darling’s exhibitions invite audiences to experience her work as a dialogue—visually striking and intellectually provocative. A lover of adventure and exploration, Darling’s insatiable curiosity extends beyond her art into her personal life onto the road traveling with her fabulous pup, Mr. Lady.
